DESIGNED BY: Atelier Takagi
During Jonah's research at the Hancock Shaker Village, he noticed many examples of square forms intersecting circular forms. From turned table legs, to column bases to basket molds, this detail and transition was a theme that served to inspire the Shaker Boxes in this document. The prototypes created for the exhibition were realized in solid maple wood and plywood. They represent only a small sampling of the possible forms that the Shaker Boxes can take.
