CodeMark certification is a voluntary third-party building product certification scheme. It facilitates the assessment and certification of new and innovative products in specified circumstances, for compliance with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and/or New Zealand Building Code (NZBC).
How long is a CodeMark certificate valid for?
Your CodeMark certificate will be valid until you choose to withdraw it. You can choose to withdraw certification at any time by writing to your product certification body. Your product certification body, or MBIE in certain situations, can also suspend or revoke the certificate if necessary.
What is branz appraised?
A BRANZ Appraisal is a robust, in-depth and independent evaluation of a building product or system to assess whether it is fit for purpose and meets Building Code performance requirements.
What is a MultiProof application?
A MultiProof is a statement by the Ministry that a specific set of building plans and specifications complies with the New Zealand Building Code. Under the Building Act 2004, Building Consent Authorities (councils) must accept a MultiProof or national multiple-use approval as evidence of Building Code compliance.
Is CodeMark mandatory?
Obtaining a certificate of conformity under the CodeMark scheme is not mandatory in NSW.
How can I get BCA certifier?
To become a registered certifier in NSW you must apply to NSW Fair Trading and:
- complete the Certification Short Course offered by the University of Technology Sydney.
- demonstrate you have the qualifications, experience, skills and knowledge.
- demonstrate you are a fit and proper person.
