Despite many ostomates being concerned, it is possible to have a normal and healthy sex life with a stoma. If your new relationship is likely to turn intimate soon, it’s really important that you communicate with your partner to ensure that both of you are completely comfortable beforehand.
Would you date a girl with a colostomy bag?
Sex with a stoma bag is very much achievable even if right now you’re a week post-surgery and it doesn’t seem like it. Ideally, you should be able to talk about it with your doctor but if for some reason you’re not, as soon as you’re capable of jogging or squatting, your body is ready to have sex too if you so choose.
Can women with stoma have kids?
Answer: Having a stoma is not a contraindication to pregnancy and delivery. Most women with ostomies do very well during their pregnancy and experience no complications before or after the birth. There are, however, several things your wife will need to consider during the course of her pregnancy and after delivery.
Does stoma affect fertility?
